This is a part of a series of original Truffula Trees paintings. 

Growing up I adored Dr. Seuss and his magical worlds he built. The way he reimagined nature and the animals within it stuck with me. 

His book, The Lorax, is the first in my memory to make tangible the impact we can have on nature (and the hilariousness of marketing... because a Thneed, really??!) When I was creating my global reforestation partnership, I couldn't stop thinking about the Lorax himself. I felt a strong connection to the sheer might and passion the Lorax had for trees and their impact on everything around them.

So I started painting them. Feverishly.

My own version of Truffula Trees that is. And these versions exist to celebrate not only my 'Every Print Plants a Tree' effort, but also Dr. Seuss, the first artist who showed me that art can create impact for good (and have fun while doing it).

Growing up I adored Dr. Seuss and his magical worlds he built. The way he reimagined nature and the animals within it stuck with me. He made me more aware of the magic inside myself to see and use my talents to impact the nature and the world for the better.

When I was creating my global reforestation partnership, I couldn't stop thinking about The Lorax and Truffula Trees. The story itself resonated the first time I heard it. And the trees themselves became a symbol for me and my mission and puts a clear timestamp on when I first understood that humans can impact the world around them positively (or negatively).

So I started painting my own version of Truffula Trees to celebrate my partnership and the first artist who showed me that art can create impact for good.

Each print comes with my favorite Lorax quote: “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not." printed at the bottom.
