She is a protector, a safe space and a hug. She’s a minimal display of 150 year old maple. Aged and stunning in raw form. SHEATHE has a powerful, stoic presence. 

The beauty of art is you can expose what you can't always see. Like a relationship or a memory. While this piece is showing you the inner maple hardwood against the outer tough bark, it's a homage to all the strong and indomitable figures in my life and yours.

Seeing inner and outer views of a tree is impossible in nature. But my reimagined view is a simple and elegant show stopper. Keeping this piece minimal was intentional to draw attention to the contrast of inner and outer wood and beauty within both.

This piece was made with pieces of Elise, the 150 year old sugar maple we had to take down. Her inner maple is on full display here. That was never available to see before we had to take her down. And we were blown away by what we saw when we milled her wood. Elsie was a long standing 60 foot tall Sugar Maple tree on our property. Her branches reached just as wide in each direction. She provided shade for the entire yard and was well loved by us as well as the home's previous owner and their family. She had been around when the home was built in the 1870s. She's a piece of history from the property, and we would lay under her and imagine all she had lived through.

Mug is a healthy 15oz. Trust me when I say it is the size you want when settling into a conversation over coffee or tea. It's big enough to hold pencils or brushes. 
Tote bags are double sided durable canvas. Come in 3 sizes that can cover you for groceries, quick trips out or beach days.
Pillows are super soft and art is printed edge to edge. Choose stuffed or unstuffed, zipper or no zipper. All machine washable. 
Stickers are great adds to gift wrapping, water bottles, laptops or anywhere you collect your stickers. I personally love them on my studio toolboxes and work tables.
