One of the truths of aging is you begin to embrace who you are and see the unseen beauty in your story. And the more you find peace with yourself, the more beauty you see in the parts you thought were most ugly. And anyone who’s lived with perfectionism can recognize the irony in how seeking perfect deforms you far more than ever possible otherwise. This piece has a deep personal story attached to it. A piece to my younger self’s story involves severe perfectionism. I used it as a shield to be accepted, connected and seen as worthy. I told myself the story that if I could push every aspect of myself to be the best version, the version I saw representing women through decades of cultural conditioning, I too could find acceptance and peace. It was a long battle with countless moments of oblivion until I found freedom. It’s fitting that this piece came about through a long wrestling match of what it was going to be. It sat close to finished for months, until one day I realized what it was about and knew in order to finish it, I needed to take risks.
Mugs are a healthy 15oz. Trust me when I say it is the size you want when settling into a conversation over coffee or tea. It's big enough to hold pencils or brushes.
Tote bags are double sided durable canvas. Come in 3 sizes that can cover you for groceries, quick trips out or beach days.
Pillows are super soft and art is printed edge to edge. Choose stuffed or unstuffed, zipper or no zipper. All machine washable.
Stickers are great adds to gift wrapping, water bottles, laptops or anywhere you collect your stickers. I personally love them on my studio toolboxes and work tables.
From my ‘Moments of Oblivion’ Collection: For decades I took in the information that formed this collection. All the moments that felt like they would destroy me. Whether it was deep loneliness, broken relationships, breaking from what I had been taught, or incredibly hard conversations. These moments felt like oblivion was upon me. A lot of growth came through them, so while the collection title feels dark, empowerment and resilience is baked into each of them.
