Being comforted when needed is an essential part of feeling safe. To feel like you belong. Knowing you can retreat to a place of understanding gives you freedom to venture back out. We all need this from time to time. And this piece celebrates those who serve as that nurturing safe space essential to growth.

This piece has received a lot of attention. It has shown a few times in NYC galleries, with an interior design curator and was featured in a launch exhibition for a print publication about humans connection to Nature. All of the material including the smooth river stones are sourced from in the Upper Peninsula. 

Organic material sourced from the Upper Peninsula in relief on board. Featuring pine (unidentified), lichen (Parmelia sulcata and Letharia vulpina) dried mosses (unidentified), smooth river stones, acrylic.

I had taken time away from the studio to explore in one of the most magical and immersive places - the Upper Peninsula. This forested region transports you into a wooded world where mosses and ferns reign supreme. Where every tree has lichen dancing up its bark. Where when it rains, the colors and textures come alive. It's an immersive experience that you won't soon forget.

Mug is a healthy 15oz. Trust me when I say it is the size you want when settling into a conversation over coffee or tea. It's big enough to hold pencils or brushes. 
Tote bags are double sided durable canvas. Come in 3 sizes that can cover you for groceries, quick trips out or beach days.
Pillows are super soft and art is printed edge to edge. Choose stuffed or unstuffed, zipper or no zipper. All machine washable. 
Stickers are great adds to gift wrapping, water bottles, laptops or anywhere you collect your stickers. I personally love them on my studio toolboxes and work tables.

This piece has a beautiful muted wood tone that comes alive with the multiple colorful dried moss and lichen species that surround it. It’s quite literally the cornucopia cradling all of the colorful dried mosses and river rocks found in remote areas the Upper Peninsula.

I had taken time away from the studio to explore and be inspired by nature. And one of my favorite places to do this is in the Upper Peninsula. When there, I couldn’t help but see all the beautiful mosses and lichen that covered every downed tree. It’s quite a place to explore and rediscover wonder and awe of nature.

Original work is 20” x 23” mixed media in relief on board: Featuring: natural elements from the UP, dried mosses, lichen, acrylic.
