Made of the stuff of summer. "Leap" contains grass stains and inky shadows next to a sun-soaked stream. LEAP is the feeling of being outdoors on your greatest adventure. It is playful to the core and you can almost feel the piece of black cherry bark swing from bank to bank across the stream of yellow and black.

I created this piece in the height of summer. I was experimenting with grass stains as a part of my practice and work. This piece was a surprise and one that I feel joy every time I look at it. 

Black Cherry, lichen, dried unidentified mosses, grass stain, acrylic, indicia ink, soft pastels and puddles on raw canvas stretched over board.

About GRASS-STAINED+SUMMER-RAINS collection: The poet Mary Oliver is a big source of inspiration for me. She experienced nature the same way I do–as permission to pause and notice. Her poem “The Invitation” struck me and spurred me to create this mini-collection. This collection is an intentional shift to a minimal approach. I left large swaths of raw canvas untouched, and I stripped down my use of natural elements to see what happened.  I infused unusual and normally unseen natural elements such as grass stains and puddles of water mixed with paints and inks. Letting the water take the colors where it wanted naturally and surprise me as it dried. The results are a collection full of organic shapes and movements. This collection is of small moments that serve as an invitation as Mary Oliver’s poem says, “to spend time, to linger on your very busy and important day”.

Made of the stuff of summer. Grass stains, sun soaked rivers, and the ease of being. LEAP is the full feeling of being outdoors in the summer. She is playful to her core.

I created this piece with the height of summer in mind. I was experimenting with grass stains as a part of my practice and work. This piece was a surprise and one that I feel joy every time I look at it. It will brighten a room and remind you to play.

Original features: Black Cherry, lichen, dried unidentified mosses, grass stain, acrylic, indicia ink, soft pastels on raw canvas stretched over board.

Mug is a healthy 15oz. Trust me when I say it is the size you want when settling into a conversation over coffee or tea. It's big enough to hold pencils or brushes. 

Tote bags are double-sided durable canvas. Come in 3 sizes that can cover you for groceries, quick trips out or beach days.

Pillows are super soft and art is printed edge to edge. Choose stuffed or unstuffed, zipper or no zipper. All machine washable. 

Stickers are great adds to gift wrapping or decoration for water bottles, laptops or anywhere you collect your stickers. I personally love them on my studio toolboxes and work tables
