Hello, I'm jaclyn.

I'm a nature artist and sculptor. I am influenced heavily by light, shadows, organic elements and the human experience. And I bring them together in my work.

Artist Statement

Our connection to nature is ancestral.

There are connections we recognize easily- beauty, nutrients and life. But what interests me is what happens when we pay attention to the small moments. How if you pause to notice them, nature can be a powerfully grounding force.

We live in a culture of distraction and demand. And my work aims to counteract that cycle. It is an invitation to linger on the and experience the unexpected, understated moments in nature. The ones right outside. While my work reimagines these moments, it does so to present nature in a way that can be seen and appreciated deeper. Through each body of work, I use nature to express very human experiences. By centering on a specific story, I give others a new lens in which to view nature: see the awe beyond the obvious.

And that new lens is powerful in an ever-distracting and demanding world. Because it's hard to feel awe and be anxious about the next item on your to-do list. It's difficult to be in a mindset of discovery and be thinking about something that happened yesterday. I hope to connect others to how tapping into our connection to nature can bring them into the present. And to see how grounding taking a few moments to notice can be.
